Dr. Kristi Hughes, Former IFM Director of Medical Education, Joins XYMOGEN International Team
ORLANDO, FL, Oct. 19, 2018 – XYMOGEN is proud to announce the addition of Kristi Hughes, ND, as the company’s new director of international business development and a contributing member of the Medical Education Clinical team.
Dr. Hughes attended the University of Minnesota-Duluth and graduated in 1997 from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, OR. She then returned to her home town to found the Center of Natural Healing Arts in Alexandria, Minnesota (doing business as Dynamic Healing Center) where she continues to serve patients from all walks of life offering a naturopathic functional medicine approach using personalized lifestyle and nutrition focused care to address root causes. In 2000, Dr. Hughes attended her first applying functional medicine in clinical practice (AFMCP) program with the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM) having found that the Functional Medicine Matrix Model offered a coherent structure on which to organize her naturopathic-based education. As an active member, she participated in the annual international conferences and went on to become an IFM Certified Practitioner (IFMCP) in 2014.
She joined IFM in 2010 as faculty, soon thereafter accepted a position as an associate director of medical education, where she supported the development of the certification program course materials, the IFM Practitioner’s Toolkit, and the production of the functional nutrition curriculum. She was promoted to director of medical education in 2014, went on to lead the creation of the practice implementation resources and more recently supported collaborations and strategic partnerships.
She is the medical director for functional medicine —South Africa, serves on the Advisory Board for Functional Medicine Coaching Academy, and is upcoming faculty at the Kalish Institute for Functional Medicine. She will also contribute to XYMOGEN domestic educational experiences, both domestically and globally.
